A LAZY DAY DOWN SOUTH :)

I sure hope everyone enjoyed a Blessed Christmas! Now that the celebrations are over, it's a lazy kinda day at our house; and the best thing happened! Some cooler weather blew in during the night ... the kind that allows us the luxury of turning off the A/C and opening up the windows :) I can't tell you how glorious it feels, especially after our mid 80 temps yesterday!

I've been enjoying some quiet time in my sewing room while Gene and Dolly have been snuggling together; and in preparation of the New Year that is almost upon us and using the "journal cover pattern" over at Moda Bakeshop, I made a cover for my new calendar.

A fast, fun and easy little project that was good for my tired self; and now that my calender is ready to "rock 'n roll," let the countdown for the New Year begin :)

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11)

  1. I love your calendar cover. I cannot believe the temp in Davie is that warm. It has been so cold here! I hope you have a Happy New Year!
I love Jeremiah 29:11. One of my favorite Bible verses.

  2. Journal cover is very pretty. I'm planning to make a cover for my new Kindle using a Moda Bake Shop pattern.

  4. DEAR JAN,
YOUR QUILTED COVER IS SO BEAUTIFUL.
I WANTED TO TELL YOU THAT THE PICTURE OF YOUR BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER SETTING ON SANTA CLAUS'S LAP IS JUST THAT.....SHE IS BEAUTIFUL. I HAVE 2 COUSIN'S WITH CHRON'S DISEASE AND HAVE HAD 3 FRIENDS WHO PASSED ON FROM A BLOOD CLOT, ALSO. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND IS THAT IT IS NOT THAT UNCOMMON. THAT SURE DOES NOT HELP THE PARENT OF THE CHILD WHO PASSES FROM IT.
AMY'S PASSING HAS BEEN 2 MONTHS BUT I DON'T BELIEVE THE PAIN WILL EVER GO AWAY. I CRY EVERY DAY AS I SMELL HER CLOTHES AND SEE HER THINGS. I REALLY DO NOT KNOW WHAT PEOPLE DO WITHOUT JESUS. I REJOICE SHE IS IN HEAVEN AND WILL NEVER SUFFER AGAIN...SHE SUFFERED SO AND THE LAST WEEK WE COULD NOT CONTROL HER PAIN. I AM SO THANKFUL WE HAD HER HERE AT OUR HOUSE BUT I HAVE HAD A HARD TIME GETTING PAST HER SUFFERING SO I CAN GRIEVE HER PASSING.
I WOULD LOVE TO BE EXPERIENCING THE TEMPS YOU ARE......WE HAD 2" OF SNOW AGAIN TODAY BUT THIS WAS GOOD SNOW....NO ICE. THE TEMPS HAVE BEEN FROM 0 - 31. MY BONES DO NOT LIKE COLD WEATHER.
THERE IS NOTHING BETTER TO ME THAN A FRESH COOL BREEZE THROUGH A WINDOW.
ONCE AGAIN I AM SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR DAUGHTER.
IF YOU CAN OFFER ANY HELP TO ME ON WHAT HELPED YOU WALKED THROUGH IT, I WELCOME IT.
